I just joined this tribe to see if anyone has any clear advice for me about flying stand by. I'm heading from BC to the Midwest in October, and am trying to find flights from Chicago to Sao Paulo, and from Buenos Aries to Maui. I am completely flexible with dates and have slept much worse places than airports, but I just don't really know how to go about getting standby tickets. Will it actually be cheaper than booking in advance? Can I request a general time frame for a standby ticket? Any info would be wonderful. Thanks!
