  They just started a ferry service a couple of days ago, I believe, although it's a political and environmental hornet's nest. Once they get the issues resolved, I'd probably do that. Check out www.hawaiisuperferry.com.

    I stumbled on this thread, I'm wondering if there are day cruises on other ships other than the superferry. Anybody know of other routes? Last minute flights are so expensive and I don't want an intinerary set in stone. Mahalo, mes cheries.

      I heard the locals have blockaded the superferry in Kauai, so you better check it out ahead of time.
      Locals no like superferry.
