I live in Canada, it's winter and it's cold now -- I keep asking myself what am I doing here? And, why am I not in Mexico, or Texas Usa? But, perhaps you want to walk/tumble in snow, skate, ski, etc...

I don't know much about Alberta except that the people I've met from there are friendly. I've heard that Edmonton is probably the best city to visit in Alberta. (I've been to Calgary and parts of it are good, but like many big cities it's a bit too suburban for me.) Off the beaten track and into nature, the prairie is beautiful. Unless I felt compelled to be in a hurry to get there by plane, I would drive, hitchhike, bike, or walk.

Air Transat, and other airlines in Canada are inexpensive, but I think they have a lot of limits imposed on flying from their tourist destinations like Mexico.

I lived in Edmonton for ~8 years, it can be bitter cold in winter and beautiful in the summer. Feel free to contact me with questions (it's been about 4yr since I moved though, I may not be the most up-to-date help :)

How long do you plan to stay? If you don't mind me asking, why Edmonton over more commonly visited cities (Vancouver, Montreal, etc)? What sorts of things/activities are you interested in? And a 4hr bus ride and about $40 will get you from Edmonton to Jasper, if you go I highly recommend you get yourself to the rockies, winter or summer ^_^

Air Canada often has a bunch of last-minute deals from US cities to Canada, I can' t say about Mexico but it may be worth looking directly on their site. Also check Alaska air.

Thanks guys! this has been very helpfull :) , about those airlines i doubt they have flights with departures from Mexico but it´s ok, El Paso Tx is really close :) , about visiting Canada in winter... well i´m aware it´s really really cold! and since i´m used to the warm i would become a human popsicle as soon as i step foot there lol, i was thinking about going in summer or spring.

I was thinking about Edmonton to visit a dear friend of mine but i have other places in mind like Toronto, Vancouver etc...

Thanks Mella for offering more info when contact, i might take you op on that.

And if you guys ever want to visit Mexico i have lots of information :)
