England in winter?

i'd like to take a "last hurrah" trip somewhere before i finally get back into school (yay!)
is anyone doing a winter sale? i have a hard time searching flight sites thanks to my extremely LAAAME dial up... argh :(

any tips would be quite helpful! thanks!
